Which direction should we travel? Is it hard to find work?

by Bianca
(Melbourne)

Hi everyone my family (hubby & i along with our two boys (13 & 9) ) are planning on leaving to travel around Australia for 12 months.

Can you please give us an idea of which direction we should travel?

We are located in Melbourne. Also is it hard to find work along the way?

Thank you, I look forward to any ideas or tips you have.

Kindest Regards
Bianca

Tropics...
by: Kate

You don’t want to be in the tropics between October-April.

Plan your trip and direction you travel around the seasons.

Follow the sun & seasons to get the most of your trip & weather.

When in town hit the local pub, shops etc about jobs; we left Brisbane early Feb 2018, headed straight to Tassie from Feb, March, April which turned into 9mths & 1 mth on mainland.

Hubby got a truck driving job in a week, we were honest on his application saying we are travellers but willing to stay 6 mths ...suited both of them work & us.

Clockwise for us
by: Amy

We are heading clockwise, and we have stopped twice for work so far and have had no troubles at all getting work (diesel mechanic and early childhood work).

My thoughts

Go across the Nullarbor, then through the middle, the zig zag your way up north.
